Bobby Gill has accomplished plenty in his 20 career starts in the Snowball Derby, the most prestigious short track race in the country. With two wins, five top-five finishes and the most laps led of all drivers in the historic event going into Sunday's 42nd annual running of the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway, Gill had seen and done just about all there is to do in the prestigious Pensacola, FL event.

Still, in the 300-lap event, he had to do what would normally be a daunting task for any other racer. Gill started at the rear of the field, in 37th, in the #151 BDI Racing Chevrolet, was spun early in the race and lost a lap, but was still able to regain the lap and charge all the way to fourth at the fall of the checkered flag.

For a driver that has many accomplishments in the Snowball Derby, Gill was able to add another to the resume after overcoming adversity to take a strong fourth-place finish in the Beef ‘O' Bradys of Pensacola, FL/2010 NASCAR Pets Calendar backed mount.

“It feels pretty good to come out of here with a strong run,” said Gill. “We didn't have the best car tonight, but we worked on it and got it better. I was hoping for a top-5; we got fourth. Dustin (Archer,

crew chief) and the guys, we all worked hard for the last couple months and rebuilt this car. We came from a lap down and finished fourth, so that's a pretty good night.”

“We are excited to overcome all we did to finish in the top-five in the Derby,” said Bob Dillner, owner of BDI Racing and NASCAR on SPEED broadcaster. “Bobby, Dustin and Duke (Kentfield, Director of Racing Operations) did a great job and that's why we were able to accomplish this. Well, that plus keeping our bellies filled at Beef ‘O' Brady's here in P-Cola. This is the most prestigious short track race in the country and we were so close to Kyle Busch (winner). Congrats to Kyle and Bond Suss (former BDI Racing crew chief), they deserved it. Next year our BDI Racing Chevy will be that much better.”

In addition to Beef ‘O' Brady's, the team received additional support from the Greg Biffle Foundation in the form of the 2010 NASCAR Pets Calendar; please visit the gregbifflefoundation.com to purchase your pets calendar. The calendar features NASCAR drivers and families with their pets. All proceeds benefit several charities to aid in the care of animals.

The 2009 season for BDI Racing is now complete, but the team is already looking ahead to 2010. Bobby Gill has stated his desire to compete with the BDI team in select events. 16-year-old Meghan Dillner will compete in the Pro Late Model/Super Late Model ranks in 2010, with several forthcoming announcements in the works. Blaise Dillner, 7, will race in Quarter Midgets and Bandoleros in 2010. BDI Racing finished with 22 wins and 42 top five finishes in 85 races in 2009.
