NASCAR TV on SPEED broadcaster Bob Dillner and 20-year-old Joey Pole have two things in common; both have an unwavering passion for racing and both grew up in the racing world of the Northeastern part of the United States.  Now together they are looking to share the joys of victory in Late Model racing.  BDI Racing announced today that Joey Pole (Polewarczyk) has been signed to compete in an undisclosed amount of races with the team's Chevrolet Late Model development program.

“I went to Thunder Road Speedbowl while in New England for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire and watched Joey win the Governor's Cup; that completely sealed the deal for me,” said Dillner.  “He put a whoopin' on the competition there that night.  He's also got a great personality.  We are looking forward to showing the folks from Chevy what he can do in a racecar.  Joey will be a great addition to our program which features Michael Pope and Meghan Dillner in the Late Model realm.”

“I've watched Bob on TV and all of the drivers seem to like him, so it is going to be awesome to get to work with him,” said Pole, who has won twice in the American Canadian Tour competition this season.  “We have spent some time together recently and it's been great.  BDI has one of the best

teams around and to get a chance to run that kind of equipment is great.  I'm looking forward to the exposure that this will offer me and my career.  Hopefully I can impress some people.  If we have a good run, it will be good for both of us.”

The current plan is for Pole to compete in the Mason Dixon Meltdown at South Boston Speedway on Saturday, October 17th with the Pro All Stars Series in one of BDI Racing's Super Late Models.  Pole will also be under the BDI Racing banner for two other prestigious Late Model races, the Oxford 250 on Sunday, July 19th at Oxford Plains Speedway and the ACT Invitational event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway during Sprint Cup Series weekend on Saturday, September 19th .  Plans for other races are still being discussed.  BDI Racing does not want to interfere with Pole's quest for the ACT championship.

“I'm looking forward to the experience,” added Pole.  “I like the challenge of driving a different car.  (ACT Late Models have 350hp; Super Late Models have up to 600hp.)  I'm looking forward to having a good race, finishing well and not tearing up equipment.  It's just awesome.”
