More Impressive Results for Team BDI In Shootout Round Six
Plott and Ruston Take Podiums, While Williams Innocent Victim Going for Top-10

Three has been Kenzie Ruston's lucky number in recent Legends Car events, including Tuesday's Summer Shootout Round Six.

BDI Racing's three Legends Car standouts had impressive runs in the sixth round of the 2009 Summer Shootout Series at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC on Tuesday, July 14th.

The night started with Legends Semi-Pro racer Kyle Plott scoring an impressive third-place finish in the Young Lions feature in an event that could've seen his FRS Contracting #4 in victory lane had it not been for contact from another competitor.

"We ran in second place for a while there and I thought I could get an even better finish," said Plott. "We had a good car and I was giving it all I could and I just couldn't get any more out of it. The leader (Travis Braden) was faster than us, but (Scott Hensley) cut me down when we had a restart and knocked my toe out from there the car was just pushing like crazy. I was just giving all I could, but we'll just work on and we'll get a win out here."

Kenzie Ruston had an equally impressive third-place run in the Legends Semi-Pro feature, which backed up her third-place runs at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder event and Friday's Caraway Speedway event in North Carolina just a few days before.

"I started 19th, and on the first lap I got in a little wreck that knocked my toe out," said Ruston of her Summer Shootout run. "The car was good though. I ended up third and I don't know how, coming from 19th. I was faster than the first two cars when I got behind them, but my car was tight. I just couldn't get around them.

"It is a confidence booster. Last week I got taken out while leading, so this was a good finish for us. Maybe next week we will get us a win. Last week we went to Atlanta and I won my heat race. They inverted eight cars, so I started seventh. I ended up getting third. Then Friday night I raced at Caraway Speedway (NC). They ran all the divisions together, so I finished seventh overall, but third for Semi-Pros. Maybe three is my lucky number.

" This week we are going back to Texas, so hopefully I can win won there this weekend."

BDI Racing Legends Pro racer Josh Williams didn't quite have the results he hoped for with his 15th-place finish, but the young racer is bound and determined to improve his results in his remaining starts at LMS this season.

"We started 13th and I was trying to run everyone clean. We made it up to 11th and then on the last lap we got blasted and moved two grooves up and got passed by some cars. I guess that is the way they race around here.

"That is the Summer Shootout. I keep coming back every year trying to win one. We might get one someday, but you never know. We are still on the same tires we used in week two in the rain. We are going to get a new set and work on the car and see what we can do."

The BDI Racing Legends teams will be back in action at Lowe's Motor Speedway for Summer Shootout round seven on Tuesday, July 21st.
