Another hot summer night at the 2009 Summer Shootout Series at Lowe's Motor Speedway produced more top-10 finishes for the BDI Racing drivers on Tuesday, June 30th. With all three BDI Legends drivers in attendance, the fourth round of the Shootout was a busy one, but all three drivers racked up solid results.

Kenzie Ruston scored a 10th-place finish in her Semi-Pro division feature, which was a better result than could have come out of her race.

"In the heat race I lost my brakes, so that's why I had to start so far back,"  "It's frustrating because some of the guys just don't look where they're going and don't look in front them because I slowed up for wrecks and I'd get beat from behind and spun out because someone wasn't watching out in front of them.

"In the feature, I think I started like 20th and I got up to seventh and the caution came out.  From there everything went wrong. I got spun out like three times and on the last lap I pushed a kid off to the corner.  He spun out in front of me and I hit him. Hopefully I can have better luck next week.  This week was an off week so next week will be better."

Kyle Plott had a bit better luck in the Lgends Young Lions feature, as the 13-year-old notched a sixth-place finish.

"We had a better car than our finish," said Plott. "I just needed to work on my driving style a little bit for this place and we keep on getting a little better each week. I wish I could school these guys up here like I do down at Lanier.  The competition here is just so good.

"We worked on the car a lot after the hear race because it was very loose.  We still did manage to finish third in our heat.  We went a little too far and the car was a bit tight in the feature.  The car was overall good, but we did have a better car then where we finished."

In the Legends Car Pro Division feature, Florida's Josh Williams also brought home a solid 10th-place finish.

The BDI Racing Legends Car team will be back out at the track on Tuesday, July 7th for round five of the Summer Shootout.

I wish I could school these guys up here like I do down at Lanier.  The competition here is just so good.  To get a top five or a win really means a lot.
