Bobby Gill and the BDI Racing team set their sights on SpeedFest 2010 at Lanier National Speedway (GA) as a good chance to kick-start the new racing season at a track that both driver and crew are quite familiar with. The early-season CRA-sanctioned event was one where the BDI team scored a top-five finish in 2009 and with Gill behind the wheel of the Hampton Inns & Suites of Flowery Branch, Georgia #151 Chevy for this year's SpeedFest, hopes were high for a momentum-building effort at Lanier this time around.

While Gill had a disappointing qualifying effort, starting the 250-lap event from the 20th starting spot, he fought his way into the top-10 near halfway of the race, getting as high as sixth before fading late to a ninth-place finish.

The top-10 effort was one that everyone at the BDI Racing shop can build from as they go throughout 2010.

"I thought after a few laps in the second half of the race that we'd have a shot to maybe get a top-five," said Gill. "There's some front-end changes that we made to the car in the shop before we left

for SpeedFest. Those changes didn't quite work the way we wanted them to during the whole weekend, but we learned what we need to do as we go down the road and I know we'll be a lot better the next time out."

The BDI Racing team enjoyed comfortable nights' stays at the Hampton Inns & Suites of Flowery Branch, Georgia throughout SpeedFest weekend and also received support for the race weekend from several NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams.

"All of our guys, including Shane (Tesch, Crew Chief), Nick (Brown), Colin (Meekhof), really put in a lot of hard work all weekend long and it's truly appreciated," said BDI Racing Director of Racing Operations Matt Kentfield. "In addition to their help, we definitely have to send a big thanks to the folks at Richard Childress Racing and Red Bull Racing for their transportation help to get us to and from the track this weekend. This was a true team effort from all involved and Bob (Dillner, Team Owner) and I are very thankful for everyone's support."

Down the road in 2010, Bobby Gill will compete in several Super Late Model events for BDI Racing with an exact schedule to be announced. Sixteen-year-old Meghan Dillner will compete in the Pro Late Model/Super Late Model ranks in 2010, with several forthcoming announcements in the works. Blaise Dillner, 7, will race in Quarter Midgets and Bandoleros in 2010. BDI Racing finished with 22 wins and 42 top five finishes in 85 races in 2009.
